If you are signing up as an Individual Member, do you have a degree in Depth Psychology?
In progress, Other degree not listed here
If so, from what institution?
Not a formal degree.... put close to graduating from Animas Valley Institute in Durango, Colorado. It's a 3-6 years program.
Are you a licensed or clinical therapist?
Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I'm a guide for Animas Valley Institute, and depth psychology is one aspect of the work that we offer. I'm hoping to share our work with others. Plus, I want to learn what others are up to and how they are bringing depth psychology to the world.
Do you belong to any other online Psychology-related communities or orgs? If so, which?
Animas Valley Institute, a non-profit in Durango, Colorado
What is your WEB SITE (IF you would like to promote it)?
I also live in Louisville so would enjoy getting a chance to meet you. 502-263-3174. I've wanted to start a group in Louisville for awhile so maybe Psyche has thrown us together here in KY. I believe you will find much of interest in the many blogs, forums, and groups in the Alliance. I look forward to your posts and your phone call.
Hi Doug. Welcome to the Alliance. As you probably know, there are several people here affiliated with Animas--or who have attended programs with you. I see Bill Plotkin is offering a daylong event on Feb 12 in Sonoma, CA, via the Sonoma State University Depth Psych program (my alma mater), so we're all connected somehow.
Hopefully, once you have a chance to explore the online community a bit, you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all fascinated by the field of depth psychology. Our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, I hope you'll find opportunities to engage as you browse the vast content and interact with others. You may want to consider joining the online book club if you haven’t already—There's a new author each month, and you can jump in at anytime and participate at whatever level you wish.
Even if you don't have the book for this month, it's all done via writing in an open forum, so you can read all the comments that have gone on so far and get a feel for what's happening. In February, we are featuring a wonderful new book from Jungian Analyst Erel Shalit," The Cycle of Life", as well as a special online study group on Astrology with longtime astrologer Kathleen Burt. March will bring a new book from Dr. Michael Conforti, a specialist in archetypes and new sciences, "Field, Form, And Fate".
