In Depth psychology we can explore life as an alchemical process. Through Depth psychology we can embrace metaphor and explore beyond our beliefs to openly hear new ideas. Here, I hope to interact with others who share an interest in Jungain, Depth psychology so I may continue to learn and interact with new ideas, beliefs, and theories that continue to support our imagination.

  • Greetings, Erik, and (a much belated--sorry about that!) welcome to the online depth psychology community. It's great to have you here! It's so great to see you've jumped right in and shared your blog along with some very important thoughts. It's a much appreciated topic in this community to be sure.

Meanwhile, as you may know, we currently have nearly 2600 members from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. To begin with, please take a moment to upload a personal photo to your profile and to introduce yourself in the forum. You can also post a topic for discussion there, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like, or comment on your current work or ask a question.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link----http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all.

I look forward to seeing you around the community.

For this discussion I would like to acknowledge a psychological component that can allow for further discussions of compassion, empathy, and the paradoxical experience of addiction. The cognitive structures that are secured within addiction leave an individual grappling with the…

Chaos, Disorder, and Burdens

There are numerous elements that can contribute to chaos or disorder in an addict’s life. The identity that develops with the addiction allows for the individual to become estranged from an identity prior to the addiction. In the disorder of addiction, the individual develops a sense of truth through the belief of a found solace in…
