2015, Humanity's Year of Happiness

This title seems taken  right out from the world of Utopia. I said seems. What would it take for our world to start on this road toward happiness for all? For the last 3000 years we were presented different theories, religions, recipes that, we thought,  would eventually allow just that: happiness for all.Now in 2015 we have to agree; it didn't work.I do not need to paint the world as it is now as we all know the picture isn't pink, unless I attribute this color to cancer. We have to pause again…See More

LIFE : the model behind Nature, brain and behavior

Will men and women ever get along? If we think “no”,  how can we fix this?Equality in the sense of “identicality”, is it what we really want? The genome tells us that there is as much genetic difference between a male and female human as between a chimp and a human. However are all those genes of equal  importance? In any case it is also agreed that what might be more important is the phenotype and…See More

Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
Carl Gustav Jung gave us eternity but is seems few realize this. I wanted to write a book sprouting from his findings but based on brain research , adding the results of these which were not available in his time to the notion of double polarity we humans share on many levels. The book could be described as: "In fact the reader through these pages effectuates a pilgrimage through the different human levels of expression: physical, emotional, symbolical, rational, and universal which manifest themselves through different aspects of our brain. They will therefore be successively plunged into the world of the Reptilian brain, Mammalian brain, Human brain, Analytical brain and Universal brain and will emerge with a clearer vision of what, why, how and who they are."

Hi Nicole. Welcome to the online depth psychology community. I'm so glad you've joined us and look forward to hearing about your book! You may want to join the group for "Published authors" and share some information there--not to mention posting it in the Forum so others can ask questions about it if they want to.

Meanwhile, as you may know, we currently have over 1450 members here from all over the world. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Also you may want to consider participating in the online book club: July will bring us “Marked by Fire: Stories of the Jungian Way” from Editors/Jungian Analysts Patricia Damery and Naomi Ruth Lowinsky. Since the Book Club is all done via writing in an open forum, you can participate at your own level and schedule.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link-- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site--and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community. ~Bonnie Bright, Founder
