Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
My passion over the past 30 years has been to understand how adults learn in everyday life. Despite graduating with a PhD from the University of Chicago and having a famous advisor to work with (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi), it wasn't until a mystical experience led me to metaphor...and its powerful influence on us, that I began to get a better understanding of how adults learn in life. That led me to depth psychology, which has allowed me to bring together my passions for both adult learning and art/creative process. I teach at Pacifica Graduate Institute, the Sophia Center at Holy Names University, and have led workshops at Esalen Institute.

Launch something new …and take the step that’s big enough

Posted on November 22, 2017 at 2:30pm 0 Comments

When people are ready to launch something new (…a workshop, a business, a creative work of art), they’ll sometimes take steps that are too small for them. This often stems from a fear of expressing their true vision. It also happens when they’re concerned about spending money on something that has an unknown…

When the Next Step...Isn't Visible Yet

I once had a well-known psychic tell me, “your life is like a quilt with many different pieces. It will come together a piece at a time.”

That image has been helpful. I often get confused when I’ve finished a piece of the quilt (it’s been stitched in and…

Hi Kim,

I think we are connected, both through DPA and private email. Private email is the best way to reach me as the DPA is not the most user friendly service, and I miss messages.  Thanks !

Hi Kim, just to let you know that I've ordered your book. My daughter is the principal of a high school for very troubled children. She's quite an experimental and unique special educator and I want her to see what you've written.

We will feel the loss and presence of Hillman for a long time to come.

It's good to know we have this forum to connect with heart and soul-minded others, Judie

Welcome Kim,

I enjoyed your web site and will visit it again. There are several members of the Alliance who either work in the arts or have a great love for them (myself included). Glad you have joined us and hope to see your posts (and pictures?) soon.
