"This "alignment of the opposites" brings to my mind the middle way of eastern thought. That we bring into balance the yin and yang, that "wholeness" is not the goal, but rather the balancing of opposites. When we…"
I would need to hear more about what you're proposing. What do you identify as an "abrupt separation?" If Pluto's abduction, and if Persephone gains individuation hence, than that would be the beginning…"
"I do not have the scholarship behind it that some of you do, but it seems to me that individuation and the dark night of the soul are two separate journeys. I think the dark night, or nigredo, comes after individuation not during or before. I…"
"Anne, I have Uranus in Cancer in the 7th house which will be or is being squared by Uranus in Aries (transiting my 4th) In the meantime, I have Pluto transiting the first opposite Uranus (and a stellium of planets in Cancer in my 7th)

"I wonder if the dark night of the soul is tantamount to a kind of possession, actually? Hopefully, I've not been misunderstood in saying "succumb." It really is more like a possession. We begin a descent; certainly…"

I have studied astrology (self-taught) since age eleven. I am largely self taught in all these areas and need direction and guidance from others at this point.

My take. becoming conscious of our unconscious influences makes us so much better at our work with others. I rank this above having a chosen modality of service for even the choosing of modality is driven by the unconscious if we are not aware. I like your use of the term witness for it was used often in the liberation psychology courses I took most recently. Best to you and your work to make a better world, one person at a time.
Hi Kelly. Welcome to the online depth community. Once you have a chance to explore the site a bit, I think you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all fascinated by the field of depth psychology. One thing that I really like about it personally is that, while there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, business people, etc--so there is much knowledge and experience here to be shared.
On that note, I'm also glad you're interested in Kathleen Burt's astrology study group. It should be a great session and sounds like its right up your alley. I also know Tav and have been taking the HB modules for several years (on the slow boat to certification) so we have something in common.

Glad you found us and decided to join the Alliance. There are many blogs, forums, and groups that focus on many of your interests so I believe you will find much to explore. I also hope you will add your learning and experience to these discussions. Just curious, have you found any use of depth psychology in your work as a social worker/therapist?
