Please share a little about yourself by way of introduction. What draws you to Depth Psychology and what are you looking for from this community?
I'm interested in Depth Psychology. Located in Holland I work with youngsters, I help them with school-related issues and social-emotional problems. Working from a positive frame of reference does wonders in a world dominated by sickness-related diagnoses as highly sensitive, PTSS, PDD-NOS, NLD, ADHD, dyslexia. I try to teach them about themselves and their strengths. Also I'm a Zhineng Qigong teacher, working with qi, restoring balance through slowly moving the body. Qigong is Chinese and related to shamanism. I'm looking for others working in the same area. Theoretical I let Jung and Rogers be my guides.

Bonnie, the founder of Depth Psychology Alliance, gave me your name.  I live in Amsterdam.  I did my Ph.D. in Mythological Studies/Depth Psychology eleven years ago.  I have also done courses with Marion Woodman, Stan Grof and others.  Although I have a lot of contacts in the US, I would love to know some people in Amsterdam who share the same Depth interests.

Welcome Karina,

Fascinating that you use Jungian psychology with school refusal related problems. I was a school counselor for a number of years before my interest in Jungian psychology took wing. I'm interested in how you use Jungian theory and practice and apply it to school refusal. Also, was a student of Buddhism and Taoism (still an avid reader) so your eastern philosophical approach is also interesting. How prevalent is support for eastern philosophy in the Netherlands?
