This is my first post on this site and as a newcomer, I'm excited to find so many lovers of depth psychology!

I am a doctoral student at Fielding Graduate University not far from Pacifica. My main research interest concerns the evolution of consciousness, and more specifically how consciousness manifests reality. This has led me to a study of the phenomena of emergence and some interesting work by Jungian analysts George Hogenson and Joe Cambray on archetypes and symbols as a function of emergence.

I'm wondering if anyone else in this forum is familiar with their work. My undergrad is in physics and my entre into depth psychology has been facilitated mostly by studying von Franz. Her work on synchronicity (divination, number/time, etc.) and what I've read about the relationship to Pauli by both von Franz and Jung, have helped me develop some framework towards grasping these ideas. But it would be wonderful to bounce ideas off others who are interested in similar themes.

Looking forward to hearing more. Regardless, I will try to post a few findings as my studies continue in case it brings value to an area of inquiry for someone else.

Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for your message.

I am an economist,  I am 67 years old and I live in the city where I was born, Bogotá. The younger fellow in my  photo is Hector,  I have been living with him for 18  years and I am very proud of our relationship.

I have had a few numinous acausal coincidences in the last four decades, and I am a great admirer of William James, of Carl Jung  and rencently of Joseph Cambray as well.

Perhaps instead of you and I  having a dialog in this blog we could start it in the DPA FORUM where other persons would be more aware of it.  Since you know much more than I do about these matters I would suggest that you start  a new topic in the forum with the same heading "Emergence and Synchronicity".

There are a few other authors that I find of interest regarding synchronicity, like Roderick Main, Robert Azis, David Peat, Paul Levy, Jeff Raff, Robert Bosnik, Allan Combs, Murray Stein, David Lindorff, Victor Mansfield, Geroge Bright, James C. van Pelt and of course Pauli.  But I think Joseph Cambray is the perfect one to start with,  among many other reasons because his main book is available online for free.

Best regards,

Gustavo

Hello Gustavo, I did not continue to post here since there was no response but yes that is a conversation I'd like to have!

Please tell me a little about yourself and your background. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. And yes Dr. Cambray's book is available online in its entirety for free - in case anyone else is interested!
