Depth Psychology and Climate Change - adaptation is the key

Hi All,

I'm making a documentary film about ecological adaptation and the transformation of modern myths from the limitless growth of free market economy to the archetype of loving home and taking care of the planet (which i frame as depth psychology in terms both ancient and postmodern).

Please watch the trailer at

If this inspires you, please donate - pledges being at just $5 and every person that joins this community becomes part of the new story we are building together. What better way to take it mainstream that making a film? It's the myth-making machine of the modern era and we need to use our tools to co-create a better world for all.

If you have watched and pledged, please share, let people know you have donated and support the vision, and help it become realised.

Thanks for your time and consideration, Geoff.

Hi Mark, yes, i do use that language too. One of the images i like is the "From Ego to Eco" picture, where Ego is a triangle with humanity on top and Eco is a circle with us amongst the other creatures. You probably know the one!

If it suits or serves, you could speak in addition to shift from "economic development to ecological care," of shift from ego-centric to eco-centric (this is Plotkin's language from his "Nature and the Human Soul: Cultivating Wholeness and Community in a Fragmented World"). Just a thought...

Thanks for your kind words and support Bonnie!

Changing the 'big story' (or myth) of humanity from economic development to ecological care is something i feel very strongly about - i know it will take an archetypal hero's journey for us all, but what better adventure could there be to undertake right now?

In loving kindness, Geoff.

Congrats on this initiative. Looks great, Geoffrey. Wishing you the best of luck, and hope others will consider contributing to help you get the project out there.

I'm not exactly sure i understand your comment Aleksander. I see using film as a great way to co-create new stories with impact, which tell our history, present and future as a collective in ways that aren't so harmful to the rest of the planet or to the less privileged humans (who always suffer the most). For me, this is good way to walk the talk - in this context, to compose 20 years of academic research into a (relatively) new story telling technique.
