Jung in the South

Calling those who live east of the Mississippi and south of the Mason-Dixon. I love California, Chicago, New York and New England, but need to connect with others in the South who are interested in exploring Jungian/Archetypal theories and practice.

After a hiatus that included taking a new job, moving to a new state, and having, on the way, heart surgery, I am back and needing some mental stimulation! I'm in North Carolina now (New Bern) and looking for any groups that may be in the area, along with their programs. I know Raleigh has a group and Asheville is even further away. Anything closer to the sea? Starting a dream group soon to get back into the numinous with others. If anyone is coming New Bern way, give me a shout!! I fear my brain turning to jelly!!

They are doing one of Matthew Fox's "Rave Masses" here in Chapel Hill.  I think it is in January.  I am considering a free salon ahead of time and then have the group attend as a case study event.  I recommend attending it just to be educated on how the process works.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy the program.

Sorry for the late response. I was sadly unimpressed with Matthew Fox's presentation. It came across as a book tour that was ill prepared. Wish I could be more excited. It was about his new book about Hildegard von Bingen. I went because of my love for her work, not so much for Matthew Fox. I didn't learn anything nor feel the desire to add another Hildegard book to my collection.

I attended a weekend workshop Matthew Fox did here in Chapel Hill a few months ago.  It will be interesting to hear your comments on what you think of his lecture.

He is promoting a charismatic mass similar to the Pentecostal and Toronto Blessing Groups.  For me, it is not religion.  It was pure stage hypnosis induction techniques to induce a trance state created by not surrendering within to the Divine but horizontally to the group leader.  His motive is pure, he just doesn't understand it.

Anyone else attending the Matthew Fox presentation tomorrow here in Louisville?

Great to see Lee, Jeanne at the Journey Conference. I'll be adding my reflections on the event by the end of the week. Lee, Jeanne, would you like to add your thoughts in the discussion above?

Great Lee!!!  Sounds like a wonderful reason to head toward the Triangle Area again.
