“Synchronistic events, moreover, almost invariably accompany the crucial phases of the process of individuation. But too often they pass unnoticed, because the individual has not learned to watch for such coincidences and to make them meaningful in relation to the symbolism of his dreams.”

Anyone have a story of a synchronistic event they can share?....

It was the spring of 2003 (obviously I was much younger than now, with a different perspective on reality). Spontaneously out of nowhere I had an idea that I noticed a pattern in Jung's concept of synchronicity (my comments here: http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/forum/topics/a-multi-causal-... - it seems that it will be published as a book chapter), half a year after I had encountered Jung (the only thing I knew about him before November of 2002 was his name). There was (still is) Hesse's Demian left in my (at that time) new home by the people I've never seen. As I read it, about the same time my life started resembling the plot of Demian. I'm still trying to figure out how much the whole situation is "meaningful".

“We who bore the mark might well be considered by the rest of the world as strange, even as insane and dangerous. We had awoken, or were awakening, and we were striving for an ever perfect state of wakefulness, whereas the ambition and quest for happiness of the others consisted of linking their opinions, ideals, and duties, their life and happiness, ever more closely with those of the herd. They, too, strove; they, too showed signs of strength and greatness. But as we saw it, whereas we marked men represented Nature's determination to create something new, individual, and forward-looking, the others lived in the determination to stay the same. For them mankind--which they loved as much as we did--was a fully formed entity that had to be preserved and protected. For us mankind was a distant future toward which we were all journeying, whose aspect no one knew, whose laws weren't written down anywhere.”

“The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world. The bird flies to God. That God's name is Abraxas.” - Hermann Hesse, Demian, https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/5334697-demian-die-geschichte...
