Event Description

The Emergence of Supernormal Capacities In Contemporary Culture, Part 2 of Seekers and Sages

In this experiential presentation, Michael Murphy discusses “the crucial marriage of vision and practice” and how “we need a story big enough for our soul”.  Evolutionary Panentheism, as a worldview, gives coherence to a “comprehensive vision of  thousands of transformative practices breaking out across the globe…”

Fundamental to this worldview, is the recognition of the actualization of divinity over the course of 13.8 billion years.  Evolutionary Panentheism holds that "The Divine is both transcendent and it is Immanent and we are secretly at one with it - we are part of the cosmic drama of the Divine Awakening."

Our fundamental human urges toward radical freedom, on the one hand, and the urge to merge, or love, on the other, both contain the universal impulse of the divine waking up, and we each experience or own ways of furthering this evolution in our extraordinary capacities.  Culturally and personally, we often buffer against "a something that emerges, doorways into our fundamental super-natures". In this discussion, we will explore how we map many practices on to "the More, the Divinity, the secret something we really are".
