Fisher King Press will be hosting an online webinar with presenter Kenneth A. Kimmel, Jungian psychoanalyst and author of Eros and the Shattering Gaze: Transcending Narcissism. Join us as Ken explores narcissistic wounding and the mystery of the Holy Grail.

The thirteenth century Grail Legend of Parzival by Wolfram von Eschenbach tells of a young knight’s quest to reunite with the Fisher King and heal his wound. From one perspective, it stands as a powerful Western metaphor for men’s transcendence of narcissism, entrapment in the mother complex, and depression.

Parzival’s trial mirrors contemporary man’s encounter with the shadow that wounds his grandiosity. Deeper truths are revealed that expose the shame he must endure to heal his heart, learn to love, and become a man both humble and resilient. These ideas are presented through lecture, powerpoint imagery, and case presentation, based upon excerpts from Ken's book, Eros and the Shattering Gaze -Transcending Narcissism (Fisher King Press, 2011). Questions and discussion will follow.

Ken Kimmel is a Jungian psychoanalyst, author, and teacher, maintaining a private psychotherapy practice in Seattle since 1984, and membership in the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. He has engaged in a lifelong study of dreams and, in the last two decades, the mystical tradition of Kabbalah. New interests include contemporary ideas in philosophy, clinical understanding of ‘inter-subjectivity,’ and narcissism, and the interface of inter-analytical perspectives.

OK, folks. I've heard back from Fisher King Press who was offering the webinar. Due to some logistical challenges, this event has been postponed. Please check the Fisher King Press site for depth psychology books as well as future offerings/updates.

Thanks, Shelley and Alan, for letting us know there's an issue! I see on the Fisher King site that all three events show as "sold out" but I don't know what it means. I have a note into them and am waiting to hear. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

I can confirm cancellation of Kimmel's webinar "Narcissistic Wounding..." but as for the other one, Shelley, I can't comment.  Cheers, Alan

I received notification from FisherKing press of the cancellation of this webinar, and the Phenomenology of Participation Mystique on Jan 14, 2015.

Is this so?

Thank you

Having a lot of issues installing Fuse. Can you offer this webinar via a different service or a perviously recorded version? Sorry for the inconvenience.  Gotomeeting or join.me seem to work well.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for this clarification, Bonnie!  You're still the brightest star in our constellation!  And we're really blessed to have your inputs!  Cheers, AAM

Hi Alan and all,

The date is definitely 11 December for this event. I'm not sure if the date posted in the email was incorrect, or if Fisher King changed the date after the first notification--but either way, their site is correct (and it's reflected in the post above), so do go by that. Thanks for clarifying, and sorry for any trouble. Trickster at work!

When one goes to the page the link takes one to, it says the webinar is happening on Wed. 11 December at 9:30am.  Yet the email says it's happeing Thurs. 12 November at 6:00pm.  Are they the same topic?

Could I please get confirmation of date/time of Kenneth's webinar?  Thank you.

Alan
