Experiential, depth training in the art and science of sandplay therapy
Sandplay Training Worldwide provides in-depth, experiential trainings on the theoretical, clinical and ethical aspects of this powerful depth psychotherapeutic method.
What is Sandplay Therapy?
Sandplay is a powerful psychospiritual method for accessing the unconscious in a way that brings about profound change. It is a safe, effective way of working with preverbal and nonverbal trauma while simultaneously promoting healing.
Sandplay therapy is based on the work of Dora Kalff and Carl Jung. Inherent in sandplay is the idea that the psyche, given the right conditions, is self-healing. In these trainings, therapists learn the nuances of Jungian Depth Psychotherapy, how to understand the images that arise from the unconscious, and how to provide "the right conditions" for healing.
These courses are designed for therapists who want to begin using sandplay in their practices with adults and/or children. Therapists working in verbal modalities and/or expressive arts therapists may find this a useful addition to their repertoire.
Deepen your understanding of sandplay therapy's symbolic and clinical processes through this five day training and meet the basic educational requirements for sandplay certification.
Linda Cunningham Ph.D. is the author of Sandplay and the Clinical Relationship, Relational SandplayTherapy and many articles in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy on the topic of the clinical relationship in sandplay. She gives trainings on the clinical relationship, the therapist’s use of self, Jungian approaches, and sandplay throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in both graduate and postgraduate settings, and is adjunct faculty at The California Institute of Integral Studies and in the Sonoma State University Depth Psychology Graduate Program.
Linda holds a doctorate in East-West Psychology. She has been a psychotherapist for over 25 years, and is in private practice in San Francisco and Corte Madera, California. You may contact Linda at Linda@drlindacunningham.com or 415-346-6363.
