Join us for a depth pscyhological look at transformative leadership!
We live in a world of economic, political, cultural and ecological upheaval. Whether it's the horrific impact of a natural disaster or the newest iteration of man-made terrorism, or the latest economic shock wave on Wall Street, the media broadcasts the trauma of catastrophic turbulence within minutes into our homes and offices. Our individual and collective psyches are forced to integrate and navigate through a climate of almost daily change and upheaval.
This climate of global turbulence is demanding a new paradigm of leadership at every level of society. Corporate America is calling for a new set of leadership skills labeled as "transformative." Yet, do we really understand what is archetypally embedded in the field of transformation? Too often, the latest formula for personal or corporate transformation finds us coming up short, unprepared to effectively integrate the profound change that transformation requires.
The etymology of transformation extends back to the Fourteenth century where it is connected to a conversion experience. Transformation is not simply about change - transformation implies a profound conversion which engages the individual and the organization at every level. Thus a depth psychological approach to this topic clearly illustrates why more than a topical, superficial approach is needed in order to successfully navigate the waters of genuine transformation.
In this five week series, leading scholars in the fields of depth psychology, organizational development, corporate consulting and leadership training will guide us into an understanding of transformative leadership which goes beyond a superficial perspective and delves into the deep waters of working with the unconscious to catalyze profound change which is both generative and sustainable.
