Roberta Busard replied to Denita Benyshek's discussion Reconnecting with the Source of Artistic Expression in Art and Psyche
"This is a very good point, Ed.
I believe that what an artist is, is possible of continuing evolution and definition.
When I first began to make art that went out into the world, I thought of myself as a "painter." That evolved as I later moved into…"

Roberta Busard replied to Denita Benyshek's discussion Reconnecting with the Source of Artistic Expression in Art and Psyche
"Although difficult, the idea of being -without needing action or direction or resolution- can eventually allow what needs to evolve, come through, occur, etc.  to occur, inward and outward. The question though may also ask, "How long must I wait?"…"

"Hello.
Interesting and timely discussion. I have been -and periodically- find myself on both sides -both as an artist myself and as a curator working with artists- of these concerns and have grappled and written about them. There are layers.

Likewise, I have this old beloved car, my Silver Volvo.  I love it and trust it, and I tap it on the dashboard and it seems to keep responding to me.

Barbara, I also, like Ed, look forward to your sharing pieces here as well.

  • STUNNING WORK ROBERTA! WELCOME TO DPA! JUDIE HARTE

  • Hi Roberta. Welcome to the online depth psychology community. I'm so glad you've joined us and I hope you will find many ways to collaborate here.

As you may know, we currently have over 2000 members from all over the world and we're growing. I hope as you explore the community a bit you find a dynamic group of like-minded people who are all deeply drawn by the field of depth psychology. While there are many Jungian analysts and clinical psychologists here, our members come from various walks of life including artists, writers, doctors, scientists, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people, etc--so there is much cross-disciplinary knowledge and experience here to be shared.

On that note, please take a moment and introduce yourself in the Forum and let the community know what brings you here or what your background is. Also, there are many opportunities to engage as you browse the site. When you're ready to jump in, please feel free to post a topic for discussion in the forum, respond to someone else's post, or share a link to an article or web site you like.

Additionally, as you may be aware, the January online book club featuring  "The War of the Gods in Addiction" with David E. Schoen also includes a free 4-week teleseminar Wednesdays in January--though you can listen to the archived version and join any week. This week, of course, is the final one but should be rich and interesting. Since the online part of the Book Club is done via writing in an open forum, you can participate at your own level and schedule--and you can join the discussion anytime, even if you don't have the book. Also in January--as you likely know-- we've just launched a special study group on the Red Book with Robert Bosnak which you can join anytime if you wish.

In case you need detailed help getting started and navigating the site, you can use the following link----http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site----and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community. ~Bonnie Bright, Founder
