  • Hi Amos. Welcome to the Alliance. It looks like you know Kayleen and perhaps she had a hand in getting you here. If so, I'm glad. She's a remarkable woman. Since you're in the Bay Area, you may also want to join the Bay Area Chapter group. We are planning meetups at some point in the near future and all the info will go there if you're interested.

Meanwhile, I believe once you've had a chance to explore the site a bit, you'll find a dynamic group of likeminded people who are all interested in the field of depth psychology. And, while there are quite a number of certified psychologists and analysts here, it's actually a very interdisicplinary community. Many of our members come from many walks of life--artists, writers, doctors, healing professionals, counselors, students, business people--not to mention lots of Pacifica students, faculty, and alumni---so there is much knowledge and experience here to be shared from different perspectives.

On that note, there are also many opportunities to engage as you begin browsing the vast content and interacting with others--all depending on what level of time investment you choose to make based on your current situation. You may want to consider joining the new online book club if you haven’t already—you can jump in anytime (there will be a new author each month)—and you can participate at whatever level you wish. The January book is available as a download for $.99 or even free! February's selection is an entirely different genre and promises to be wonderful as well. Of course, as you can see, there are many groups on various topics as well.

Finally, in case you need detailed help navigating the site, please use the following link-- http://www.depthpsychologyalliance.com/page/navigating-the-site --and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all! I look forward to seeing you around the community~Bonnie Bright, Founder

  • Welcome Amos,

Glad you found and decided to join the Alliance. I found the Council/Circle process most energizing and genuine in practice with my cohort at Pacific. It was as important an experience as the academic work and complemented the academic with the visceral. Happy to see your work continuing. There are several areas in the Alliance where ecopsychology is being discussed so I know those areas will be enriched by your sharing. Again, welcome to the Alliance. I look forward to your posts.
