Eva I very much appreciated the video. Thank you.

  • Hi Klemons,

I am sorry that I missed your response to the video post until just now. It is eerie that when Marie Louise Von Franz was interviewed about Jung, she is reluctant to speak of his vision of devastation. That part of the interview is particularly haunting and as  you mention, unfortunately prophetic. Orwell was a Prophet, as was Huxley. We are seeing the results of the force of the unconscious when motivated by power and control. The surrender of course, involves a death to the ego, (all that we identified as ourselves). The myth of our separation from Nature, our power over it, while being driven by instincts devoid of feeling has brought us here. Some of us, :-) still believe there is hope, however. Just because we are here and having this conversation, there must be hope.

Orwell also commented on the our future. His moral was "Don't let it happen. It depends on you." He was attuned to the will to power camp as opposed to the Freudian sexual camp.

Thanks for the video.I didn't realize Jung communicated such a bleak assessment of our future. After watching the publics reaction to the Snowden revelations and the heavily censored yet grisly American torture report you have to wonder. Did Jung ever contextualize his shadow concept with mammon. Allegedly good  people enslaved by blind materialistic aspirations have engendered all kinds of havoc in the world. America's armor piercing weaponry is loaded with depleted uranium when tungsten can easily be substituted without impacting the penetrating power of the weapon. Well getting rid of America's depleted uranium supply is going to cost hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars. So why not spread it across Iraq Afghanistan Libya and wherever. Where there is money to be made the shadow emerges as a hero huh? Second example is America was burdened with mountains of toxic chemicals. So what did some good upstanding but greedy bunch of scientists decide to do. Well they mixed these toxic chemicals in with fertilizer and spread them across the farmlands of the United States. In small quantities to be sure, yet the farmers started getting sick from this slip shod practice. Wash your vegetables and corn and wheat if you can. Need I mention the psychiatric community that has stood idly by when 1 in 10 american woman was psychologically addicted antidepressants.

This ratio jumps to an incredible 25% among women between the ages of 40 and 59.

Everyone knows what the bankers and wall street have done to the American economy. The shadow is alive and well and running riot with his brother mammon right in front of our eyes. I was surprised to see Jung called it....
