WITNESSING TREE SPIRITS  IN ORDINARY REALITY

Our property on the Bay of Quinte is home to several species of native trees. In one area we call the glen, we’ve been witnessing an ongoing onslaught by invasive insects. Over a period of three to four years we watched helplessly as the ash trees slowly lost their battles to the Ash Borer Beetle. It bores pencil holes into the bark, then tunnels under it, robbing the trees of vital sap. Simultaneous attacks by tent caterpillars forced the trees to leaf out twice in the same season depleting their reserves.

The first tree to come down was a 60 foot specimen that was still mostly alive when we felled it. It came down with a heavy thud that shook the little glen, and sent my son and me running for cover.  We bucked the branches and left the trunk for another day.

Three nights later I awoke around 4:30 AM for a bathroom visit, and became wide awake afterwards. Since it was a mild October night, I put on my bathrobe and slippers in the dark, and decided to walk down to the glen to make a rare, early morning meditation.

As I descended into the glen I hit something. I had forgotten about the felled tree laying in the middle of the very dark glen. Even though my eyes were dark adapted, I did not see the branches lying on the ground until I walked into them. As I peered into the darkness before me, my eyes took in a faint ribbon of light stretching away from me for many feet into the night’s darkness. I had to take a few steps back to catch my breath and regain my balance.

Puzzled, I walked back up to the rim of the glen from where I could see that there were no patches of low-lying fog forming anywhere down in the glen. The night sky above was clear and starlit, and I could not see any sky shine from other ground sources. I gave the long sliver of glowing light a wide berth so as not to disturb it, as I walked around to approach it from another angle to see if I could discover its source and extent.  This time as I got closer, I could make out a soft grey-blue  glow hovering over the full length of the carcass of the tree. As my mind took in the significance of the scene my head dropped intuitively out of respect for what I knew in my heart was a lifeforce leaving the dying tree. I said some words of regret, and my body started to shake with excitement or cold, as I sat in quiet wonder.

The glow disappeared as the morning light entered the glen. I rushed to the house to investigate the strange light on-line.  My cursory research suggested that the grey-blue glow fit the pattern for bioluminescence from decaying organic matter. The common name is Foxfire or Will ‘o the Wisp, and it was documented long ago. The usual sources are decaying matter and fungi, and the glow is so faint that it can only be observed if your eyes have been dark adapted. Apparently, the light is produced by a pair of special enzymes present in decaying matter which react with each other to release biophotons of soft light. After discussing the tree’s eerie glow with an experienced woodsmen and chemist, I chose the simple explanation that the light I had observed that morning came from rotting sawdust created under the ash bark by destructive beetle activity.

A few days later I started to dissect the trunk for firewood, and I noticed how thick the bark was, and how little actual sawdust had been produced by the beetle invaders. The amount of sawdust under the bark was trivial, and it just didn’t seem possible that so little organic matter could produce all the light that I had observed. In addition, the bark was so thick that it would surely absorb all the light photons completely. More compelling, was the sudden realization that the rest of the ash trees that were still standing were equally infected, but they did not give off any visible light emissions on that night. As the realization sank in; that the eerie glow over the dying ash tree was most likely its life force or spirit leaving the dying carcass, it sent a chill up my spine.

I consulted some of the top forestry research and management experts in Canada, who ruled out an explosion of the Armillaria fungus, that glows in the dark forest, and can spread over large areas of forest floor and acts as a communication system for trees. It became clear that the unusual glow could not be explained satisfactorily by natural processes. I reviewed my personal impressions as I witnessed the event, keeping in mind that my human presence in the glen could have perturbed the natural electromagnetic field energies present on that morning. The physical evidence I observed that morning informed me (mentally and spiritually) that spirits live  in trees. Why is there no documentation of this anywhere? Can only autistic eyes discern spirits and things that glow in the night? Now I see trees differently. Wherever there are trees, there is abundant life. They’re like living fasteners that connect the sky with the earth. Because they live in both worlds, they act as a conduit of communication between them.

FMRI studies reveal that consciousness is still measurably present after the brain/body has died, telling us that consciousness is not the result of biological processes. Science supports the theory that trees have intelligence, because trees have been observed to mount organized defences against a deadly threat like invading insects. Planning and strategizing require creative thought.

When the rest of the ash group is felled this spring, they will hopefully provide more opportunities to study this undocumented phenomenon, perhaps with a night vision camera.

Shamanic and other spiritual cultures around the world honour and use sacred trees as: portals or gateways to hidden worlds, sources of wisdom, and even wish fulfillment. To name just a few, the Mohawks of North America honour the cedar as the sacred tree of life. The Caribe natives honour the ceiba tree, and West African’s have spiritual relationships with the iroko tree.

The visible light emissions coming from the ash tree trunk 3 days after it was cut down, proved to me with high confidence that trees have a spiritual nature that gives them life, and it can be observed and possibly documented under the right conditions.

NATIONAL HEALTH CARE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ANY NATION'S NATIONAL DEFENCE, MORE IMPORTANT THAN ATTACKING OTHER NATIONS WITH VIOLENCE.

Nations that make war to drive their economy with wealth taken from others, prioritize war making as the nation's most important activity since wars are a major source of income for the architects of wars.

The great delusion that has been implanted and continues to dominate the American mind is the fantasy that business is a legitimate national interest that should be supported with massive violence, which has already destroyed millions of lives globally.

The American economy has become a parasitic force that demands to be fed with indigenous resources taken with destructive violence from their rightful custodians. Over hundreds of years, the American mind has been conditioned to accept the low warrior view, that the world is a nothing more than a playing field, where everything is fair game in the competition for control over wealth, and where the strongest or most violent win all. The losers, indigenous people of the Americas, the Philipines, Hawaii, the Caribbean, must submit to their parasitic agenda until the next great change.

War cultures are grown by a very dedicated group of hawks who rise to dominate everything within the host nation where they operate, which become little more than a vehicle for gaining control over other sovereign nations and their wealth in an ongoing chess game.

The grand delusion of military and political supremacy has been "energized" with fake inspirational buzz words like: "patriotism", "honour" and "national security", and "international policing", These key words open gateways in our brain were our warrior genes are waiting and ready to respond with collective violence, as we join the herd brain each night in the collective.unconscious.

In the recent past, the Bush administration misappropriated and wasted about 3 trillion US tax dollars that should have gone responsibly to PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF AMERICANS, as part of real national security, but it was squandered instead on Haliburton''s Board of Directors who provisioned the Bush wars of terror against Iraq and Afghanistan.

From its inception, the USA was constructed as a warrior nation, with a war culture that drove it violently across what is continental America today. It embraced the classical formula for colonial conquest instituted by Roman conqueror Constantine in 325 CE when he weaponized Christianity. Violently imposed colonialism is now recognized as criminal terrorism.

Perfidious American leaders have successfully deceived the American public in sacrificing their own health care for the most powerful militarily machine to have terrorized the planet with its modern forms of massive violence. Bush's 3 trillion dollar wars could have paid for the entire health care bill for Americans.

Outsiders conclude that the people in the most powerful nation in the world have been deprived of real and meaningful  national security in the form of universal health care for all Americans by war hawks. Caring nations not distracted with constant war making have acted responsibly, and developed universal health care, for their citizens, a sign of a truly enlightened and progressive leadership.

A shocking 93% of US history has been wasted making destructive wars against others for their land wealth. US war hawks have successfully distracted the American public with delusions of national security in the Middle East where the US has no legitimate national interests or legal rights.Business interests are NOT national interests.

The Chinese taught us the critical value of respiratory protection during a pandemic. So how much would it have cost Trump to REALLY PROTECT every American life with a face mask?

Good, commercial face masks can cost up to $5 each. So for 333 million Americans, Donald Trump would have had to pay: 1.66 billion dollars to REALLY PROTECT AMERICA, in other words for real national security. Cheap face masks for every American would have crushed the infection curve like it did in China.

Willful governments are like bad little boys who need serious admonishments. Because a war making American President became so distracted with shooting missiles at Iranian governments, and attacking all his detractors, that he failed to do his first duty which was to protect the nation from deadly viral attacks. The covid-19 pandemic was announced months before, and Trump had time to do the right thing and prepared PPE for all, but he turned his back on his own people as the disaster approached, not unlike Nero playing his little fiddle as Rome burned.

Unfortunately today, there are 650,000 Trump infections, and  25,000 Trump deaths, in America.

STATISTICAL EVIDENCE EXPOSES TRUMP'S MISMANAGEMENT OF COVID-19

For anyone who missed the point, Face Masks, made the pivot difference in how the covid-19 virus was immediately controlled, confined, and defeated in China, within a population of 1.4 billion people.

Let's look at the numbers once more. Only a tiny fraction of the public that self reports because of rising symptoms is actually tested. All governments lie to protect themselves, so pushing aside all of the political hype, acrimony, and manipulations created by governments, the gross numbers reveal who did it right, and who failed to protect their citizens with best practices. It should be acknowledged that all statistics are very soft, and equally credible from all sources.

China's Covid-19 Response - face masks for everyone from the start, distancing, hand washing for.1.4 billion people...resulted in 83,000 infections, and 3,300 deaths.

USA Covid--19 Response -  distancing, and hand washing only -  for 0.33 billion people...resulted in roughly 608,000 infections, and 25,000 deaths.

The US numbers of infections are roughly 10 times higher than China's, and this irrefutable outcome is due to a lack of face masks for everyone. The CDC and the US government knew this, but Trump chose a cheap, bargain basement response that actually facilitated these infections and deaths through minimal practices. The American population was thrown under the bus once again, by an indifferent government that knowingly put Americans in harm's way.

The infection rate in China was controlled at a level of 83,000 known cases over a population of 1.4 billion, producing an apparent infection rate of 0.00005928.

The infection rate in the USA today has reached 650,000 known cases over a population of 0,33 billion, giving an infection rate of  0.00195.

If the US government had applied China's response to the US population, [which produced an infection rate of 0.00005928], it would have reduced the number of documented US cases from 650,000 to about 197,400, cases, with a parallel reduction in the number of American deaths.

I think these numbers illuminate and end all arguments and political disputes over which Country's covid-19 program was best. China's response was responsible and swift, and it succeeded in protecting it's population by a much wider margin than the US.

THE SINGAPORE PRESS REVEALS HOW CHINA BLOCKED COVID-19 WITH FACE MASKS

Below is a report by the Hong Kong press “StraitsTimes’, which has to the detriment of the western world, been dangerously suppressed by a politically hostile western media, as self-serving Chinese propaganda.

China crushed the covid-19 epidemic which started in Wuhan, by using face masks from the start.  While the western press wrongly claims that China used social distancing to flatten the infection curve, they failed to report that the Chinese people wear face masks routinely in cities.

It's really a no-brainer. In China, social distancing with face masks for everyone reduced the spread of covid-19 pandemic to 83,300 infections, [correcting the previously reported 58,000], and 3,300 deaths to date. Meanwhile the downgraded US program which only used social distancing without respiratory protection for everyone, actually facilitated more than 600,000 infections and 25,000 deaths.  The numbers reveal the success and failures of each program.

The Chinese people have become used to wearing masks in cities mostly because of bad air, eg: smog etc.. They don them without being told, especially after any announcement of airborne problems, like contagious diseases. They were already wearing their own masks outside, and everywhere in public places when the outbreak was first announced. China needed many more to mask everyone, and they were able to do so quickly.  Canada sent them a large shipment, and I think we’re slowly getting them back.

Here’s the article from Straitstimes in  Singapore:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“BEIJING - When China's top respiratory disease expert, Professor Zhong Nanshan, first shocked the country on Jan 20 by confirming its worst fear that the new coronavirus was being transmitted through human contact, face masks sold out overnight from big cities to small villages.

Suddenly, everyone was wearing one out on the streets, even though they were not told to do so at that point in time.

Two days later, Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, mandated that everyone had to don a mask in public. This was a day before the city was locked down.

Anticipating a travel crunch as millions of people headed home for the Chinese New Year holiday that weekend, Beijing pushed out a nationwide hygiene campaign urging people to wear masks, wash their hands regularly and avoid crowded places.

Since then, many cities and provinces made mask-wearing compulsory. People who did not wear one were arrested or shamed. This, even as medical workers on the front lines were battling an acute shortage of masks themselves.

But as cities like Beijing have started to relax its rules on public mask-donning as the epidemic comes under control, there is still the expectation that anyone out in public should simply put one on.

Taxi and private car hire Didi drivers can refuse to take passengers who do not have their faces covered. In public parks, such as Fragrant Hills in Beijing, minders politely remind visitors to put their masks on, even if they take them off for a minute to get some fresh air.

Unlike other countries such as the United States, there is little to no debate here over whether masks are effective in keeping the coronavirus at bay.

"There is good evidence that maximal shedding of virus in Covid-19 is before onset of symptoms, therefore mask wearing by the public, not as a self-protection measure, but to limit transmission from minimally symptomatic individuals to others will be reduced," said Professor Babak Javid, an infectious disease expert at Beijing's Tsinghua University.

The emergence of cases of transmission by asymptomatic carriers in the past week has reinforced the Chinese belief in mass mask-wearing.

EXPOSING WASHINGTON'S DEADLY FACE MASK SCANDAL THAT PRODUCED 1O TIMES THE NUMBER OF INFECTIONS WITNESSED IN CHINA, WHERE EVERYONE WORE MASKS FROM THE VERY START.

Today, the infection numbers in the USA facilitated by social distancing alone have exceeded 600,000 cases, with 25,000 deaths. That's about 10 times the levels witnessed in China which saw 59,000 cases and 3,300 deaths resulting from face masks for everyone, supported by social distancing.

The numbers are compelling evidence that the US CDC has compromised public safety to conceal bad governance by the Trump administration.

In the USA, the Center for Disease Control is a government agency that provides guidance in health matters. Like all government agencies, the CDC is legally bound to support government policies, both good and bad.

When governments fail to act responsibly and provide for the protection of their citizens,
they use their agencies to provide political cover. When there’s an airborne threat like the deadly Covid-19 virus on the loose in a community, everyone needs respiratory not just health workers.

However, the CDC adjusted to the government shortage of face masks for all Americans, by downgrading a full protective response, to a minimal response with social distancing, a weak measure that only works outdoors under ideal conditions. Instead of protecting the public, the CDC has been protecting the errant government it serves, and it has knowingly put its own citizens in harm’s way with ineffective orders.

The CDC's irresponsible handling of the covid-19 pandemic has resulted not only in explosions of infections in the USA, but in every nation including Canada, that blindly followed the CDC toxic advice without challenging its validity .

Governments’ Emergency Response Programs are generally at the bottom of their priority list,
and emergency supplies are not usually maintained at a realistic level. When governments fail to
stockpile sufficient emergency supplies to protect their entire population, they downgrade their
response and recommendations to cover up their failures before the public. The same criminal process unfolded in Canada because Health Canada followed the CDC criminal lead, by adopting the worst practices instead of the best practices.

When only infected persons are given masks and ordered to wear them, it gives the false impression that all sources of infection have been contained with masks. This is dangerously misleading because we know that only a small percentage of those infected, are tested, while the majority of infected persons will go on blithely to infect the unprotected public with their virally contaminated breath, especially inside buildings where pockets of contaminated air linger for up to 3 hours as active microbes.

This dangerous reverse logic coming from incompetent government agencies is the reason we are seeing explosions of infections in New York and Quebec. Their infection numbers are evidence that masking infected persons, while discouraging the rest from wearing them, is a formula for disaster.

WARNING, NEVER FOLLOW GOVERNMENT RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE WEARING OF FACE MASKS INSIDE CONTAMINATED BUILDINGS. ALWAYS PROTECT YOURSELF WITH SOME FORM OF RESPIRATORY PROTECTION.

CDC's Epiphany - I don't know how long it's been posted, but today, I finally saw the CDC quietly admit its errors, by copying the China formula and publicly recommending alternative respirator protection in the form of cloth face masks for the rest of the suffering population, which can be easily made at home.

The experts are emerging, and I foresee charges of criminal mismanagement and fraud against Washington and Ottawa, in the near future.

A SHORT SIDEBAR ON THE SELF-HARMING MECHANISM FOUND IN NATURE

Self-harming appears to be ubiquitous in humanity, as we see it everywhere in varying degrees. It appears in every individual, in every society. Is it a natural process found everywhere in nature, or just in humans?

We see evidence of self-harming in the animal world when living conditions, or the creatures own health drives it to self harm. An animal in chronic pain for example, will often express it, or take it out on a part of itself like an appendage or tail, that it perceives as not belonging to its core self.

We also see what appears to be self harming in the botanical world, but not as often or as easily perhaps, but there is evidence of this strange behaviour everywhere. Is it a design flaw, or a reaction to environmental challenges and adverse living conditions?

This lovely sugar maple has developed a "girdling root', that is slowly choking its owner, and it will probably die by its own root. This is not an uncommon growth pattern, as we have observed it in other species across the landscape. Some arborists explain it as nothing more evil than root crowding. When the tree is young, soil conditions could force its roots to wander in search of better soils, and sometimes a root will wander and continue to grow in the wrong direction, until it interferes with its own growth. No interfering forces here.

Is this what happens to us during our journeys through the world? As we travel down life's diverse paths, we take side trips that can change us with every new experience, sometimes so radically that we cannot recognize ourselves later when we try to establish our identity.

After WWII we lived in Belgium, where my dad worked in the coal mines. We would say goodbye to him in the mornings as he left with his lunch pail, but when he came from the mines and stood in the doorway of little flat at the end of the day, none of us could recognize him. He was black from head to foot, and when he smiled he looked sinister and evil. What did you do to our dad?

HOW DID I BECOME THE VOICE OF SIX THOUSAND INDIGENOUS CHILDREN MARTYRED IN CANADA?

While attending a Catholic High School in the 60s, a priest-teacher slugged me in the back of head one day, when my Tourette’s got out of control.  He concussed me, and the damage sent me into a downspiral that ended badly in hospital. Christian violence almost destroyed my life, and had it not been for a loving sister, and my enduring connection to my deep inner truths, I would have perished and ended up a spiritual slave in Christian La La Land.

There have been many other victims of Christian violence revealed in Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Report. The TRR came at the end of hundreds of court cases, and class action law suits, in which the government’s criminal mistreatment of indigenous children was finally exposed and documented, despite continued government resistance.

The TRR revealed the spiritual rape of hundreds of thousands of indigenous children taken from their homes and communities by violence and threats of violence. They were thrown into remote residential school prisons, away from all eyes even the law, where Christian teacher-guards abused them every day with: physical, emotional, and spiritual terror, in order to convert and control them, and more importantly their land wealth.

Unspeakable Nightmares in Christian Hell

Indigenous children were denied the same human rights afforded Christian colonial children, and were officially labeled as "savages” in Parliament.  More than 150,000 innocent native children “taken” from hundreds of sovereign first nations, were officially stripped of their native identities, and systematically, criminally mistreated by the Canadian government and its Christian partners in crime.  Christians forced their defenceless legal charges to accept an enemy deity named Jesus into their hearts, or face daily: starvation, humiliation, beatings, solitary confinement, hard labour, and social isolation.  This was racial hatred of the worst kind directed at minority children, nothing close to love or caring.

In Jesus’ name, innocent children who knew nothing of the world, and were essentially unprotected, were forced by paid Christian missionaries to surrender their spiritual freedom and native sovereignty by accepting Christian spiritual enslavement. They were forced to agree to binding spiritual contracts, a morally and ethically repugnant process that was legally empowered by a racially toxic law called the Indian Act.

Under the bogus pretext of civilizing the indigenous worlds, British and French Christians colluded to force religious conversion, a form of spiritual domination on sovereign indigenous nations and their children, in order to control them and their land wealth. Over the 150 year span of the Residential School Prisons, more than 6,000 native children were killed by their Christian guard-teachers for those lands. The Christian pogrom against indigenous spirituality killed about 1 child per week, for 150 years, and no Christian noticed the problem. When 8 Jesuits were killed the whole world heard about it, and memorialized them in grand style.

There were no monuments or pilgrimages to honour the 6,000 children killed by Christian missionaries in Christian made Hell-holes. Many of their graves and records were conveniently lost to protect the guilty.

These 6,000 courageous indigenous children actually stood up to the cruelty and brutality in the Christian Residential School prisons, and refused to surrender their native spiritual sovereignty.

Their martyrdom at the hands of paid Christian criminals, made them Canada’s highest heroes.

6,000 were killed by European Christians who were still possessed by racial hatred, and guided by a spiritually bankrupt religion invented by brutal conqueror Constantine in 325 CE. Christian colonials who failed to resolve their own racial and political hatred and conflicts without violence over 17 centuries of Christian guidance, were unleashed on the New World by Pope Alexander VI [known pedophile and murderer], when he gave the green light for Christians to have their way with the indigenous New World. The Christian Pope opened the door to the greatest evil to have swept across the New World. He approved and blessed Christian genocidal land theft, and eager Christians were happy to look upon indigenous people as subhuman savages, as they took their women, lands, and gold.

Christians cursed the New World with the most criminal, genocidal empires the world had seen. Blinded by their own lack of spiritual evolution throughout 17 centuries of Christian violence, they failed to recognize the nurturing spirituality of native belief systems as they encountered them.

Like ancient vandals, their goal was not to civilize, but destroy or enslave the indigenous worlds to serve their selfish and greedy agendas.

CANADA’S HIGHEST HEROES

The brave Canadian children who were forced to face these international criminals, triumphed over Christian criminality through their intuitive recognition and resistance to its evil. These courageous children, these great Canadians, rank as Canada’s highest heroes. They exemplify the best in Canadian spirit and sovereignty.

They are excellent models for the rest of Canada to emulate, because they did not use or support violence, nor impose their beliefs or their will on others. They did not go overseas to fight in another colonial war to defend European colonial powers that terrorized the Americas with Christian colonialism.

As a retired community activist, my usual areas of interest have been human rights and public safety. But since there doesn’t seem to be anyone around who is willing and ready to champion these 6,000 indigenous heroes, looks like it’s on me.

A few days ago, I launched a campaign in my colonial town, to honour our highest Canadian heroes, who should be memorialized and honoured in every colonial town, every large city, on the steps of Parliament, and in front of the Peace Monument.

I expect a shitstorm! Good thing I have my PPE ready.

WESTERN GOVERNMENT INCOMPETENCE IS KILLING US

Most, if not all western governments have mismanaged the Covid-19 pandemic in their countries. The soaring numbers of infected and dead victims denounce their fake protective efforts as criminal negligence.  Everyone knows that social distancing is useless indoors where pockets of contaminated air may exist without our knowledge, so we end up inhaling those viral droplets that are still active and suspended in the air for up to 3 hours because an infected person coughed or sneezed there half an hour ago, and left.  No face mask means zero protection for those without. We know this! Why are health officials trying to lie to us who know better?

The so called infection curve is a direct result of ineffective protection [social distancing], and ONLY respiratory protection for everyone will flatten it.  Face masks protect the wearer directly, as well as the environment. Zero face masks means zero protection for those without.  Washing hands will not stop an inhaled viral infection.

Testing for infection is overrated as a means of protection, because it is merely “ after the fact surveillance”, and does very little to prevent the main pathway of infection which is direct inhalation.

This is NOT our first epidemic. We’re not new to epidemics like SARs and H1N1 that were transmitted by inhalation. Our national health agencies were mandated to protect us, but they have clearly failed  to do so because of political manipulation by an unprepared federal government more interested in coverup than protection.

We must demand respiratory protection for everyone under our roof. Once again, the N-95 mask is not magic, and there are many other viable alternatives. Homemade respiratory protection in the form of: home-made surgical masks, close-fitting bandanas, wide scarves, etc…can provide a high level of protection until the better ones become available. While these forms of homemade respiratory protection are not 95% effective, they provide an order of magnitude protection [60-80%], that is far higher than 0 protection.

Unfortunately, this full regalia,  is what it takes to survive in today’s world of airborne and surface contamination.  When I wore this to do our grocery shopping, the manager approached me with raised eyebrows, until I told him that in two months he and everyone in the store would be wearing similar gear. After some discussion he agreed to unchain the shopping carts so that clients would not have to handle potentially contaminated coins to release a cart.

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING CHICKADEE?

This is what all the "smart" chickadees are wearing this spring, while all the "strong and brave" birds who dare to go without, will unfortunately succumb to infection.

1. Respiratory Protection - I'm wearing an N-99 face mask, [a bit more effective than an N-95 which is 95% effective against particulates and microbes.]

2. Skin Protection- I'm wearing a rubber raincoat with a hood that I draw closed with strings to cover more of my facial skin. The raincoat can be decontaminated easily with wipes or spray.

3. Face shield - from my workshop, it's a plexiglas safety shield to stop droplets from landing on my face, AND to keep my hands away from my face.

4. Disposable gloves - to protect my hands against contact with surface contamination. The Covid-19 microbe will not penetrate health skin, but it can be carried to our facial membranes which are accessible to viral infections.

Best of luck to all.

A STORY

It was a dark and stormy night that woke the old man from his fitful sleep. Philomen’s nightshirt was soaked with salty sweat, an uncomfortable result of wrestling for hours with fears and conflicts that seemed to invade his sleep lately.

He lived simply now, by his heart, at the edge of a great forest. He had come to learn its secrets, and to escape the city life that had depleted him in many ways. A long life in the artificial environment of the big city had immersed him in the addictive mindlessness of consumer culture, and desensitized him to the subtle flows of nature.  Now, away from the powerful distractions and mad routines of city life that kept him locked up emotionally and spiritually, he finally felt safe enough to divest himself of his armoured defences, and allow himself to soften and open to the world around him.

It was a natural opening process that slowly recognized and connected him with the nurturing forces of nature around him. Over time his breathing became fuller and more energizing, his sensitivity to nature increased, and in a few years he had developed a high level of awareness of himself, and everything around him.

His keen awareness allowed him to notice small, barely discernable changes happening inside and outside of himself.  In the evenings, as shadows started to play against the trees, he began to notice the presence of negative thoughts appearing in his awareness. A few years ago they would have blended in with the rest of his thoughts and gone unnoticed, but now they stood out like foreign obelisks on the landscape of his mind.

A strong gust of wind slammed the heavy workshop doors, reminding Philomen that they needed his immediate attention.  He pulled his raincoat over his nightshirt as he stepped into his boots. He ran to the workshop and fought to close the doors hard against the raging winds, before securing them with a long bar.  As he turned to go back to the house he thought he saw a black object blow across the yard, and disappear under a hay wagon.

Philomen walked over to the wagon and crouched down to have a better look. It was totally dark under the wagon, and his eyes were unable to make out anything, moving or still. He stood up and started to walk back to the farmhouse, when he heard it.  It stopped him in his tracks, and he stood frozen before the wagon. He heard it again, and this time his body reacted as the sound resonated deep in his bones. It was a familiar sound, but he could not put his finger on it.

He crouched down again in front of the hay wagon, and looked deep into the darkness below. The cry came again, only this time it carried a long note of anguish.  Puzzled, Philomen got down on his knees to get a better view.  Thick darkness filled the area under the wagon, and he could not make out any forms or movements.  As he peered deeply into the darkness, his eyes began to make out a pair of motionless yellow lights.

As Philomen’s eyes took in the amber glow in the darkness, he knew it to be alive, and he began to address the darkness.

“Friend or foe, I welcome you, but there’s a great storm rising, and we need to get to shelter.”

As gusts of wind swirled around them, the pair of glowing lights under the wagon remained motionless.  Storm or no storm, they showed no interest in coming out. Philomen sensed the danger of the storm building, and wanted to get back to the farmhouse, but he felt a strange bond with the thing under the wagon, and he could not detach himself and walk away.

He got down on the ground in front of the wagon, and tried to reach under it with his arm.  Suddenly, he jumped back with a scream and grabbed his arm, dripping with blood. The fury and fierceness of the attack shocked him, and forced him to back away from the wagon.

Philomen retreated to the safety of the workshop. As he tended his wounds, he struggled to understand the strange situation, but he was stumped.  He had little time to resolve it, yet he knew he must. He began to search for tools or weapons to help him.  He took heart when he finally found an old blanket and some rope, which inspired a plan of action.

The winds were now in complete control of the farmyard, as he knelt in front of the hay wagon again. He called loudly into the darkness under the wagon, inviting the creature to come out. He said he was the owner, and he felt a responsibility for the lives of all who lived with him.  There was no response.

Philomen had become a student of the gentle way, and he decided to use his quiet voice, to softly entice the creature out of the darkness, but the storm raged so loudly that it silenced any gentle attempts. He continued to urge, plead, and even seduce the creature into coming forward and showing itself. All his efforts to bring the creature out of darkness failed.

When it became obvious that the creature was determined to remain hidden under the wagon, Philomen folded and tied the thick blanket against his chest with ropes.  He stared into the darkness under the wagon, and said: “A powerful storm threatens us. You need not fear me, for you are what I was once. There is still enough of me in you, and enough of you in me, that together we are powerful enough to protect each other.” With those words, Philomen moved toward the creature with the glowing eyes, wrapped his arms around it and drew it to his chest.

The moment their hearts touched, the sounds of anguish changed into sounds of celebration and rejoicing, unlike anything that had been heard in that part of the country for centuries.

A SCREENING METHOD FOR AIRBORNE COVID-19 CONTAMINATION

Referring to my previous message - growing Covid-19 cultures in an attempt to quantify the level of airborne microbes in a particular room or area takes precious time when you're working against the clock in a pandemic.

A quick survey of rooms for the presence of Covid-19 microbes by taking a quick air sample and looking at the water medium for the Covid-19 microbe through a microscope, would  provide actionable information that can be used to decide if the room air is or isn't contaminated. If the air sample shows no evidence of Covid-19, it can be reused safely immediately, otherwise it will require ventilation and decontamination.

A hospital administrator under tremendous pressure to accommodate as many patients as possible is probably looking for simple YES or NO screening method to reuse patient rooms and monitor the air in other parts of the hospital. Every modern hospital [stat lab?] has microscope facilities on site, and by now knows what the Covid-19 bug looks like. This quick screening technique could be very useful in reusing patient rooms, and other areas of the hospital.

It could answer important questions fairly quickly such as: Is the air in this patient room still contaminated? Is the air in the reception/waiting area contaminated as well? Is the air in maternity and neonatal okay? Where do we need respiratory protection, and where can we be safe without it?

Yesterday, infamous American President Donald Trump made an international pariah of himself, when he created another international fiasco. This time his actions exposed his petty, shrunken heart and mind, when he ordered 3M to cancel the Canadian order for 60,000,000 face masks. So much for allies when the chips are down eh Donald? He keeps cutting all of America's vital lifelines that support and keep America successful. This President is the King of Self-Harming.

Canada's Prime Minister Trudeau, reacted to this overt American treachery well. He warned Trump publicly that his intervention was morally wrong, and that Canadian retaliation could hurt the US equally. Unfortunately Trump has no moral or ethical values, and Trudeau's word fell on deaf ears.
