In light of the personal and collective regenerative potential of embodied grieving, online Extinction Grief & Creativity Forum supports the peaceful, if raw, creative expression of feelings in a compassionate circle.

The attention is specifically with disenfranchised, chronic, and complicated grief brought by global awareness and associated with the loss of lifeways and whole communities during this period of planetary transition.

Please note: Extinction Grief & Creativity Forum is a place for sharing personal works produced as part of the grieving process.

The Forum is NOT a place for sharing facts and figures and is NOT an "End Times" / "End of All Life" support group.

Rather, the forum is a "Coming Back to Life" (Joanna Macy and Molly Young Brown) support group that encourages embodied grief through creative process for the purpose of living well, "even beautifully" (Barry Lopez), compassionately, always and in all ways before we die.

The forum practices with full awareness of how serious the present situation is for individuals and collective. With this, the emphasis is on present-day loss and regenerative potential.

There is encouragement to go ahead and imagine - to feel - the loss of all one identifies with, as well, the whole world - Life itself - while in the same instant desire most to thrive and help others do the same...until death, which happens for every body eventually.

Aside from the emphasis on compassionate witness to collective and personal loss and one another's original works, group sharing is unstructured and guided by participating members. Members are invited and supported to participate in a shared group practice and are also free to share what is their personal focus at any time.

his forum is supplement to and NOT a replacement for in-person community grief ritual. We provide space for sharing of opportunities for in-person mourning related to collective loss.

Online Extinction Grief & Creativity forum originally initiated fall 2015 stemming from the Extinction Witness 2014 - 2015 monthly revolving creative witness.

Genocide or Ecocide as Suicide, vice versa

This group discussion supports the production and sharing of works  with a focus on grief associated with genocide, also known as ecocide, within the collective suicidal tendency.  In other words, why are we killing ourselves? Painting: Ishi (WIP) by Denise Monaghan Born around 1860, Ishi is the last known living member of the Yahi, a small tribe near Mount Lassen in northern California. Theodora Kroeber tells Ishi’s story in her book Ishi in Two Worlds: A Biography of the Last Wild Indian in…

Parenting in the 21st Century

This group discussion supports the production and sharing of works  with a focus on grief associated with birthing and raising children in an era of ubiquitous chemical pollution, economic transition, mass depression and anxiety, and technologically  'smart' weapons. As with all other groups in Extinction Grief & Creativity Forum, the work is couched within the reality of accelerated species extinction and compassionate regenerative physical actions in response, improving the present and…
